2019 Florida Panhandle Tarpon Season

Fly Fishing tarpon

Happy New Year everyone!  With the new year brings thoughts of warm temps and the beautiful flats of the Florida Gulf Coast.  April is nearing and so is the annual migration of Tarpon.  These fish are by far the greatest gift to the fly fisherman.  From April – October they swim the shallow flats that line the Gulf Coast of Florida in depths of 1-8 feet of water.  This provides sight fishing opportunities that are unmatched in any other arena.  Come enjoy Fly Fishing for Tarpon in undisclosed locations where you will be the only boat on the water targeting tarpon on fly rod.  I have spent the last 5 seasons working out the quiet zones along the Florida Gulf Coast where the fish only receive pressure from 1 boat.  There is no problem coaxing an eat from fish that do not feel any pressure.  Enjoy feeding Tarpon 6″ black flies which is unheard of these day’s in most of the fisheries.  It’s hard to say how long this will last so book your dates now to experience Fly Fishing for tarpon the way boy’s of the 70’s and 80’s experienced in south Florida.  Trips available from April – October.  Looking forward to hearing from you.
