Floriada Panhandle Fly Fishing for Tarpon

May 6, 2011 in Florida Tarpon Report

May is a special month hear in the Florida Panhandle the cold fronts really start to loose there momentum and the Gulf of Mexico’s northern waters really start to warm.  With these warming water come the Tarpon.  I’ve been seeing a few more fish every day.  This afternoon I made it out on the water for the last few hours of the rising tide and was very pleased to have seen the #’s of fish I did.  I counted over 30 in 2 hours which this time of year is awesome.  I even saw a good number of groups of 2 to 3 fish swimming together in the direction that our migratory fish swim during June and July.

A GREAT early season afternoon!
