Catch Tarpon and Redfish on Fly - Florida and Louisiana Flats Fishing Guide

Louisiana Redfish

During the fall and winter months of September through mid March Salted Flats Fly Fishing is based in New Orleans right in the heart of the famed Louisiana Marsh.  We invite you to come enjoy Red Fishing at it’s finest.  The Louisiana Marsh is no doubt the best Redfish and Black Drum fishery the world has to offer.  We fish the outer Marsh where the big fish are.  Salted Flats will pole you in 1-4 ft. of water where the fish range from 15-50+ lbs.  We fish where many world records have been caught, and will continue to be broken.

Redfish Fishing GuideSalted Flats Fly Fishing works the waters from the Biloxi Marsh to Venice, Louisiana.  We will take you on a Louisiana Marsh fishing trip of a lifetime targeting Monster Red Fish and Black Drum.  You can expect to catch 5-10 in a day all though 25+ fish days are not uncommon.

During the fall and winter months Salted Flats Fly Fishing concentrates on the Biloxi Marsh where the monster Redfish and Black Drum come in to feed in the warm, shallow, Gin clear waters.  In the spring and late summer months we move south where the Big Bull Redfish school up and prepare for their annual spawn.

Salted Flats Fly Fishing always works hard for you on the water.  We want our clients to have the best opportunity to land that Redfish or Black Drum of a lifetime.  If you set out catch your trophy on the Fly Rod and the weather doesn’t permit we have no problem carrying a Spinning or Bait Casting Rod on board to ensure you have the right equipment and the best chance to catch your monster fish.  Our mission is to give our clients the most memorable experience with us on the water leaving them with bragging rights and wanting to come back for more.

Your day or days with Salted Flats will begin with your guide picking you up at your hotel or lodge at around 6:30 AM and driving you to the launch.  We will stop along the way for breakfast if you haven’t done so already.  We will pick up sandwiches  for lunch as well.  This will put us at the ramp by 7:30AM and in the water by 8:00AM.  This gives the water time to warm up after the cool nights.

Salted Flats Fly Fishing looks forward to having you aboard for a great day or days putting you on the Giant fish of the Louisiana Marsh.  Come join us in the real (Land Of Giants.)
