High Pressure and cold clear water is what December Redfish season in the Biloxi Marsh is famous for.  We nothing less than perfect conditions today and the fish new it and enjoyed it as much as we did.  Shot after shot the ENTIRE DAY at Bull Redfish over 20 pounds.  My Anglers were pretty worked at the end of the day having never held still as a result of either casting or fighting a monster Bull.  Wintertime Redfish in Louisiana!  Enjoy the pics! New Orleans, La. lies in the center of the Louisiana Marsh which is the winter home to giant Bull Redfish.  This day we experienced some high winds but still managed to get some good shots.  Here’s a few pics of a fish we hooked!  Enjoy!

New Orleans Fly Fishing

Had a great couple of days fishing the Biloxi marsh out of Hopedale LA.  The weather was choice with the wind out of the north east clearing some Big fish water that has been a little to dirty to fish for a week or 2 allowing us to sneak in a stick unsuspecting monster Bull Redfish.  We had shots at fish in the 20-36 pound range throughout both days!  The Louisiana Marsh is really heating up with temperature drop and the high pressure.  Clear sky’s and water’s accompanied by Stud Redfish makes a great couple of mid November day’s.  Here’s a pic of a 25 pound fish from today and a 35 pounder from yesterday!  Enjoy! New Orleans Bull Redfish Fly Fishing Charters

I enjoyed a half day trip this beautiful morning.  We had clear sky’s and crystal clear water accompanied by a light breeze.  The Bull Redfish were enjoying the morning as well sitting up in the shallows motionless soaking up the warm sun and providing great shot after shot.  We had opportunities at 8-10 fish above 25 pounds from 8:30 AM-11:00 AM.  Not bad at all!  Could only imagine if we had then 4-5 hours to fish…  Here’s a pic of the 30 pounder we caught.  Enjoy! Louisiana Redfish Charter Fishing

The waters have cleared from the Algae Bloom that accompanies water temps over 70 degrees.  The end of Sept. and all of October were full of Giant Schools of Spawning Redfish totally willing to eat top water poppers!  We have had a series of really nice cold fronts that have dropped our water temps into the zone we like of 50-65 degrees.  The Redfish have ended there Spawn and are now scattered all over the Louisiana Marsh crushing Flies.  This is the winter Redfish season in Louisiana when Bull’s come in and reveal themselves in super shallow ponds perfect for sight fishing too.  We experienced some unseasonable high winds the last few day’s and stayed inner Marsh to enjoy some Louisiana’s smaller 10-15 pound fish out of the wind.  Enjoy the pics! Louisiana Redfish Charter Fishing

A sort of tough day out on the Marsh today.  The Redfish were not showing themselves very well and we only managed about 15 shots at fish over 20 pounds.  We managed to get one to eat but also had a blast with Jack’s who were out in force!  Huge schools of monster Jack’s kept us very busy most of the day.  Maybe that’s why we didn’t notice more of the Redfish.  Gotta love fall in the Louisiana Marsh! Louisiana Marsh Fly Fishing

An awesome day on the water of the Biloxi Marsh in Louisiana!  We had schools of Bull Redfish as well as Jack’s pushing banks and aggressively feeding all day.  This time of year the Louisiana Redfish group up into massive schools in a pre spawn ritual.  When the fish are grouped up like this which resembles a sea of orange surrounding the Skiff they can be rather competitive towards eating, making them ideal for targeting on Popper Fly’s.  Bull Redfish on Popper’s enough said…   The water’s continue to clear making site fishing these Bull’s all the better.  Enjoy the Pics, Doug Henderson
