Louisiana Fly Fishing for the worlds largest Redfish begins soon! The Louisiana Redfish season starts on October 1st and run’s through the end of March. These are the months of October, November, December, January, February, & March. The weather in the South East begins it’s cooling trend and the water becomes clear. The cooler weather cause’s the surface temp of the marsh waters to become colder which then kills off much of the algae blooms from the warmer summer months. The general wind driven sediment does linger in the water column nearly the time as when the water is warm. Therefore the fall and winter months are by far the best for sight fishing on fly rod for Louisiana Redfish. New Orleans or the surrounding areas make for the perfect setting to spend the evenings after fishing. Louisiana is known for it’s cuisine and New Orleans has over 300 restaurants. Stay in the French Quarter or along Canal St. with easy access to the Quarter and the Harrah’s Casino right down the Street. I have dates available during each month still so contact me to reserve your Louisiana Fly Fishing trip.
