February Fly Fishing in Louisiana does not disappoint. The marsh waters are clear and Bull Redfish have moved completely into the shallows where they will remain until mid April. They are totally comfortable with their surroundings and have been for some time at this point. The Mullet, Bull Minnows, and Glass Minnows are offering up a steady hardy meal. The Redfish can be seen laid up on the surface of any water depth as well as tailing and pushing shorelines. The size range spotted on a daily basis is in the 25 – 40 pound range. These big Reds stand out in the clear waters like a yellow/orange beacon drawing your eyes right to them. The fish are relaxed as the predators have moved on due to water temps falling and the bulls are apex. A well placed is rewarded most of the time. Come stay in New Orleans just 50 minutes from the landings and enjoy this beautiful echo system and it’s bountiful Fly Fishing opportunities.
