June in Apalachicola in 2015 proved to be an awesome month of Fly Fishing for Tarpon. We started out with beautiful weather throughout most of the day’s. A bit of wind out of the southeast had the water a slightly turbid which can help greatly in feeding Tarpon. Being a Fly Fishing Guide hear in Apalachicola for these Tarpon when the bite turns on is awesome! Lot’s of hookups each day can be a regular event. This month was no exception we launched fish after fish. The wind has died and the Gulf of Mexico water’s have cleared to an emerald green making spotting these fish very easy. We have battled with some afternoon thunderstorms the last 4 or 5 day’s but have been able to feed quite a few fish in the morning to early afternoon hours. Really looking forward to the rest of the Panhandle Tarpon season!
